Student Wellness

At Huffman Independent School District, the Student Wellness Department is committed to supporting the physical, social, emotional, and mental well-being of every student. Through a collaborative approach that connects schools, families, and community resources, the department works to remove barriers to learning and help students thrive academically, socially, and personally. 

The Student Wellness Department includes Mental Health & Student Wellness services, campus counseling support, health services, and the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC). Together, these programs provide comprehensive support focused on student success, safety, and overall wellness. 

Services and resources available through the department include:

• Individual and small group counseling
• Crisis intervention and mental health referrals
• Social-emotional support and wellness education
• Campus nursing and health services
• Immunization and medication administration guidance
• Connections to community agencies and outside support resources
• Family resources and wellness partnerships
• Student self-referral and counselor referral options
• Guidance and recommendations related to coordinated school health programming through SHAC 

The department believes that healthy students are better prepared to learn, grow, and achieve their full potential. By fostering a supportive and caring environment, Huffman ISD strives to empower students and families with the tools, resources, and relationships needed for long-term success and well-being.
