1:1 Program

1:1 Program
Huffman ISD has an exciting and effective 1:1 program that has been in place for several years now, dramatically enhancing the opportunities and resources available for our students.  A "1:1 program" simply refers to the ratio of devices to students.  In other words, at Huffman ISD, every student in grades Pk-12 has a device dedicated to them for their use. Please review the Student/Parent Device Handbook for all HISD students.

Grades 6-12: Home Use
Under the program, all students in grades 6-12 are eligible to have a device issued to them by the school district while they are enrolled in Huffman ISD.  These devices are "checked out" to the student, and the student is allowed to bring the device home. While we understand the apprehension about the potential distractions that these devices can introduce, we firmly believe in the additional resources and opportunities that these devices will provide.

Grades Pk-5: School Use
Students in grades Pk-5 will leverage the devices as part of their normal classroom work.  While students in these grades are not allowed to take their devices home, rest assured that each student has access to a device. Classroom teachers assign these iPads to students shortly after their enrollment in the district. The iPads are kept in charging carts located within the classrooms for the easy accessibility of our teachers and students.
